Train Simulator: BR Class 52 Loco Add-On Ativador Download [Xforce]

Updated: Mar 22, 2020

About This Content One of the classic early diesel era locomotives, the Class 52, comes to Train Simulator as seen on mainline rail tours across the UK.Built by British Rail for the Western Region between 1961 and 1964, the Type 4 locomotive followed the Western Region’s preference for diesel-hydraulic models, compared to the more usual diesel-electric locomotives seen elsewhere on the network and a need for a high-powered locomotive to head top-link services. In total, 74 models were built at BR’s Swindon Works and Crewe Works, and the twin Maybach engines delivered a top speed of 90mph (140 km/h). Whilst the design of the Class was largely successful, its working life was relatively short, with retirement beginning in the early 1970s and the Class being fully withdrawn by 1977 and scrapped shortly after. They were also never renumbered under TOPS, becoming the last class of locomotive on the BR network not to carry a TOPS number. However, their popularity has seen some locomotives preserved on heritage railways, with D1015 ‘Western Champion’ retaining its certificate for mainline use – the only ‘Western’ to do so.The Class 52 – officially licensed by the Diesel Traction Group – for Train Simulator is a former Iron Horse House model, which has been updated to Train Simulator standard, including new scenarios and improved exterior modelling. The locomotive recreates ‘Western Champion’ as seen today operating rail tours, and is available in BR Western Region ‘Red’ livery including BR ‘chocolate and cream’ Mk1 coaching stock. The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the BR Class 52 on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for The Riviera Line: Exeter-Paignton route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).ScenariosFour scenarios for The Riviera Line: Exeter-Paignton route:Training: Class 52 Simple ControlsTraining: Class 52 Expert ControlsChocolate and CreamTricky Time to ExeterMore scenarios are available on Steam Workshop online and in-game. The scenarios are engaging and I had no problems getting gold for both which are rated as medium difficulty. I would recommend getting this for touring any of your routes, as the view from the cabin is expansive and you'll enjoy more of the scenery than if you were driving some other locos. You can still enjoy it without getting the Armstrong Powerhouse Pro soundpack, but I will agree with other reviewers in saying it does very much enhance the experience.. dosent show up. Due to the somewhat strange design I was a little reluctant to buy it at first. But now I'm glad I did! The sound of the Maybach engines is simply awesome and because this loc is diesel-hydraulic it produces a lot of traction without wheelspin. It's great for hauling freight! The only thing I'am not very pleased with is the very loud AWS alarm.. Worth having this loco. better still at sale price. Only thing I can find is: Would be better if driver changed end,s when going backwards. other than that great loco to have in your collection.. A decent representation of one of the Western Regions most notable hydraulic locos athough to get the full expierence and the most enjoyment out of it it's highly recommended to acquire the Armstrong Powerhouse PRO Sound Pack as well as Matthew Wilson's reskin pack from DPSimulation for extra varients to get your bang for your buck.. ONLY RECOMENDED WITH AP SOUND PACKWithout the sound pack the physics and sounds just ruin a decent loco and model plus it only comes with the single livery i brought it in sale expecting a decent loco but even from the 50% off price i felt a bit ripped off having to buy a \u00a35 sound pack to just make it usable.Overall though once combined with the AP sound pack its a pretty mean machineOnly recommed buying it on sale and with the understanding u are gonna need to spend another \u00a35However the MK1s with it are pretty decent. goes to load the scenarios featured and the game crashes, cant even load the loco without it crashing. FIX IT!. A toad crossed with a sausage!! Ugly!Brought it on a whim during steam sale previously not interested in british mainline locomotives, This beautiful machine changed my mind Drives like a dream, Cab has ultimate visibility - Even has a headlight! (For speedsigns)Unfortunately cant comment on default stock sounds as I never heard them - on advise of earlier reviews I looked up Armstrong Powerhouse and decided it's something id want.. Highly recomendedshes a beautiful driving machine on the Wearhead to Teesdale network route, really fits with the scenery and erathe looks grow on you.. quickly displaced my 03 shunter as the prefered locomotive for passenger runsCarriages included are wonderful. Definately worth adding to the stable. The 52's a bit underpowered, but its unusual look makes it a nice change, and the cab provides EXCELLENT views of the scenery... Like a cab\/carriage combo, but better. She's my favorite loco for that! Add in the Armstrong Powerhouse sounds which create a great in-cab sound ambience, and then consider its four hi-class (free!) BR blue skins (which you can add to the game as Customer Consists), and this is a gem. Highly recommended.
